Section 1: Theology

Christianity and white supremacy have had an intimate relationship in the west. This can make it challenging to know how to engage scripture, or to have a desire to do so. What might our engagement with the Bible look like if we did it outside the lens of whiteness? Is that even possible? We will cover not only the history of how the two got so intermingled, but also offer (and practice) some different, freeing, forms of engagement.

Section 2: Whiteness

There are a lot of ways to consider whiteness, and the second half of this course takes you through a consideration of whiteness in yourself, your relationships, and your engagement with the world around you. We will cover what dismantling looks like in each of those realms, including the sticky subject of politics - both how to engage with it and how to talk politics with other white people.
